Last month, a new family moved into the flat next to mine. Their names are David and Maria. They have two young children, a boy called Leo and a girl called Emma.
On their first day, I knocked on their door and said hello. I brought them a small cake. Maria was very happy and invited me inside for a cup of tea. We talked for a long time.
David works as an engineer and travels a lot for his job. Maria stays at home with the children during the day. In the evening, she studies English online because she wants to find a job in the future.
Leo is five years old and already goes to school. Emma is only two, so she stays at home with her mother. Emma is very funny. She laughs all the time and loves to dance.
At the weekend, the whole family goes to the park near our building. Sometimes I join them. We sit on the grass and the children play with a ball. It is very nice.
I am glad that David and Maria are my neighbours. Before they arrived, the building was quiet and a little lonely. Now it feels like a real community.
