I concorsi per le forze dell'ordine prevedono spesso domande di inglese base (livello A2-B1). Ecco le nozioni più richieste.
I PRONOMI PERSONALI SOGGETTO
I = io, You = tu/voi, He = lui, She = lei, It = esso/essa, We = noi, They = loro.
I TEMPI VERBALI PRINCIPALI
Present Simple (azioni abituali): I work, he works. Terza persona singolare: aggiungere -s (he goes, she watches). Domanda: Do you work? Does he work? Negazione: I don't work. He doesn't work.
Present Continuous (azione in corso): I am working. He is working. Formato: soggetto + to be + verbo-ing.
Past Simple (azione passata e conclusa): I worked. He went (irregolare). Domanda: Did you work? Negazione: I didn't work. Present Perfect (azione passata con effetti nel presente): I have worked. He has gone. Formato: have/has + participio passato. Differenza con Past Simple: "I lost my keys" (azione passata) vs "I have lost my keys" (le sto ancora cercando).
Future (futuro): Will + verbo base (I will work); going to + verbo base (I am going to work — intenzione o previsione basata su evidenze).
I MODALI
Can = potere, saper fare (I can swim). Could = passato di can / forma cortese (Could you help me?). Must = dovere (obbligo forte: You must stop). Should = dovresti (consiglio: You should study). May = potere (permesso formale / possibilità: It may rain). Would = condizionale (I would like...).
ARTICOLI
A/an = articolo indeterminativo (a book, an apple — "an" prima di vocale). The = articolo determinativo (the book). Zero article = nessun articolo (con nomi astratti generali, sport, pasti: I like music. I play football. I have breakfast).
PREPOSIZIONI DI TEMPO E LUOGO
At: ora precisa (at 3 o'clock), luogo specifico (at the station), festività (at Christmas). In: mesi (in January), anni (in 2024), stagioni (in summer), parti del giorno (in the morning), luoghi chiusi (in the office), nazioni/città (in Italy, in Rome). On: giorni (on Monday), date (on 25th December), superfici (on the table).
